It was weeks in the making. Fans submitted their suggestions for a new team name for the outgoing New Jersey Cows. After many great suggestions we have finally selected the name that shall forevermore be the mascot of the New Jersey team… well, maybe not forever, but that sounds a lot more dramatic.
But in true “American Idol” fashion we’re not just going to announce it right away, we mean, c’mon, gotta have a little suspense, right? So, this weekend we’ll be unveiling the new name at our shows, along with a whole new look for ComedySportz—new uniforms!

You know that kid who sits in the back of the classroom making all those clever, funny comments that you wish you had thought of first? How about the hot chick who seems to always be surrounded by friends and admirers? Well we have both of those in one package called Alexis Simpson! She is playing a lot in August so we thought it was the perfect time to sit down with her and ask her our classic ten questions.
1. Your name and nickname: Alexis “Sandford and” Simpson
(ok fine, no one has ever used this, but Homer, Jessica, O.J, these are boring) we could also do Alexis Simp-son Of Sam

3. Year you joined CSz: 2005
4. High School attended: Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (Alexandria, VA)
5. College (and grad school) attended: Haverford College
6. Favorite CSz game: Game-o-matic
7. Favorite memory involving a fan: I was once playing “Back In My Day”. When one of the other players started to go up, this 8-year-old in the front row said, for the whole audience to hear, “This better be funny.”
8. Memorable show moment: During a game of 4 Corners, Sean C and I were paired together. The ref got a suggestion for our scene as usual, but when we swung back around to review that suggestion, Sean and I both confidently and loudly repeated back two very different words. I mean DIFFERENT – I think I said “Real Estate” and he said “Bosnia”. We were both shocked when we heard the other person’s “suggestion” and there was this honest moment of total panic as we looked at each other, all “WHAT DID YOU SAY?” The audience was falling out of their chairs, laughing. It stopped the show for about a minute. It was great.
9. Interesting fact (or 2) about yourself: I was born on Guam. I HATE okra, I dislike pudding. When I was 8 my family walked out of the musical “Annie 2″.

The time has come to make a change in the ComedySportz Philadelphia organization. For 17 years the Philadelphia Fighting Amish have battled the New Jersey Cows for the Meaningless Cup. Some feel it is time for the New Jersey Cows to retire and be put out to “pasture.”
The ComedySportz owners and coaches have turned it over to the players to come up with a new name for our New Jersey nemesis. Not comfortable with all that responsibility, the players want to share some of that burden, er, we mean honor, with you the loyal fans.
What name would you give the New Jersey Team?
Just leave your suggestions for a New Jersey Team Name in the comments section. You have until midnight Friday August 21st. The winner will be announced on our website, Facebook Page, and Twitter feed.
If a Player’s suggestion is chosen, the fan with the best runner up suggestion will receive two free tickets to see ComedySportz!
If a Fan wins, they will receive a ComedySportz “You-Named-The-New-Jersey-Team” Prize Pack (includes two tickets to see ComedySportz, a Fluid Replenishment System, Pennants, snap bracelets, and an official CSz T-shirt).
What are the rules? There has got to be some rules, right?
• No dirty words or “adult” humor
• No topical jokes; we’ll be around a lot longer than Corzine, Christie and organ-trafficking rabbis.
• The winning name will be voted on by ComedySportz Philly players.
• If multiple people submit what turns out to be the winning suggestion, their names will be put in a hat and a winner will be chosen at random.
