This is not your grandmother's book club!  We're taking on the classic works of William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, and Agatha Christie in this highly irreverent, completely improvised show.

Our Theater

Our 100-seat theater is comedy-intimate and ADA accessible. You get great sight-lines, comfy seats, private bathrooms, and a concessions stand with moderately-priced snacks and drinks. Everything you need is conveniently located in our space.

SARAH LeCLAIR is a Philadelphia-based theatre artist and educator who has been performing ComedySportz since 2015, and has been teaching the works of all three authors tonight since 2001.  Recent Philly work: Episode 3, Pitch/Black, Best Medicine, Objection!, and Terror Trove shows.  See her this October in Camp Dread, an improvised horror story.  When not improvising, Sarah is working as a director, producer, stage manager, intimacy coach, or theater camp director.

Host

Brian McCann: is a Philadelphia based actor and improvisor.  He has numerous Shakespearean credits to his name with companies like The Lantern Theater Company and Philadelphia Artist Collective. He has also appeared in Great Expectations at The Arden Theater Company and Hedgerow Theater Company. Brian has created and performs as Charles Dickens in his  show Generous Fire.

Alex Levitt: is a NJ/Philly based actor/improviser/music maker. He attained his BFA from Pace University in NYC with a focus in acting/performance. Since 2021, Alex has been a company member of ComedySportz, Philly's longest running improv show. He has also performed multiple shows through Sidequest Theater including; The Improvised Tony Awards and Best Medicine. Alex was a performer and part of the leadership team for the musical improv show Off The Record: The Improvised Rock Mockumentary. 

Chase Dannelly: is tickled to be part of this brand new production. Chase has played Redfield in Dracula at the Ritz theater, and is a cast member of Objection! at SideQuest theater.  Chase has their Bachelors in Theater and their Masters in Education from Rutgers University. Chase teaches elementary schoolers during the day. Currently, Chase is reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and their favorite author is Brandon Sanderson.  

Karen Getz: is a 3x Barrymore Award winning Philly-based theater creator, performing artist and improviser. She was a member of the Los Angeles improv company The Wild Side and joined Comedysportz Philly in 1995. She was a company member of Lunchlady Doris, 13 Skirts and Killer Pussy, and co-created and performed (with Kelly Jennings) in the award-winning, immersive, improvised social-anthropology experiment- Cecily and Gwendolyn’s Fantastical… She currently performs in the epic, two-person musical  adventure The Gorgeousity with co-creator, Dawn Falato.  Most recently, she has appeared as Bernadette in P.O.T.U.S (Delaware Contemporary) and as Mute in The Fantasticks (Quintessence Theater Group).  Karen is also a theater-choreographer and the creator of three award-winning, comic-actor’s ballets.  You might also know her as that gum chewing dancer always behind Patrick Swayze in the film, Dirty Dancing. 

Chris Packard: has been a long-form improviser for a decade now, and a performer for longer. Chris got his start in 2015 through the Harrisburg Improv Theater, and has taken many classes and workshops from notable improvisers such as Sean Conroy, Molly Thomas, and Sebastian Connelli. He currently performs in Philadelphia with teams such as The Improvised Tony Awards, Tchotchke, and Drums Drums Drums. You may have seen him last year’s Fringe doing Improvised Shakespeare! 

Murf McManus: has been improvising since AI meant Allen Iverson.  She's played with Comedy Sportz Philly, The Baltimore Improv Group, and ImprovHI in Hawaii. When she's not doing make-em ups, she's teaching English to High School seniors.  

Noah Max Levine: is an improviser, theater artist, podcast host, and educational arts administrator based in Philadelphia. Noah performs short-form improv with the Philadelphia N Crowd, and has recently been seen in Best Medicine at SideQuest Theater. His solo improvised play, Noah's No-Show Show, toured to Philadelphia Fringe, Atlanta Fringe, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Noah's childhood love of Agatha Christie novels has turned into a niche interest in Golden Age mysteries, Japanese detective fiction, and anything with a locked room. 

Don Montrey: performs in ComedySportz, The Delco Improv Company, The Pitch (2025 Duel Dual Winner), Am I The A$$hole?, Murder Manor, and The Marvel Improvised Multiverse. For 12 years, Don was the Executive Director of CSz Philadelphia. For 13 years, Don was the Head News Writer for 1812 Productions’ This Is The Week That Is.
