This class is designed for improv Duos (teams of two) and is open to new teams looking to jumpstart thier sets or veteran teams looking for a shot in the arm. The first four weeks will focus on instruction, the second four weeks focus on performance with weekly sets on the CSz Philadelphia stage for audiences. These shows will be followed by a notes session with the Instructor. This is a great way to work on your form and get some immediate feedback.

From Erika: "We will start with a clear understanding of individual and collective goals and -- using diagnostics to determine where a person and duo is at the beginning of our work together-- we'll modify and craft exercises that help you both intellectualize and experience the types of approaches and behaviors that help bring it home for you. Feel free to reach out if you have questions." Pre-Requisite: Improv 301 from CSz Philadelphia or another training center.

Erika MayMcNichol

INSTRUCTOR: Erika May McNichol

Erika May McNichol is an alumni of the Chicago comedy scene, where she trained at ImprovOlympic, The Second City, Annoyance Theater and ComedySportz. After performing on numerous house teams, sketch teams and indy teams in Chicago for 5+ years, she moved to Austin with her spouse Bob McNichol. Working with other Chicago and New Orleans transplants new to Austin, she helped establish ColdTowne Theater and developed a full teaching curriculum, training hundreds of students in the art of finding their comedic voice. In September 2018, ColdTowne was named a top place to study improv outside of NY, LA and Chicago in Vulture Magazine.

Bob and Erika have been performing together since 2005 as both a duo, McNichol + May and as part of the award-winning troupe, The Frank Mills (ATX), which performed the monoscene each week for over a decade. They recently headlined the Charm City Comedy Festival in Baltimore. Erika performs with ComedySportz Philadelphia and is the director/creator of THIS WEEK SUCKED at CSz Philly.

What Her Students Say: "Erika has that rare combination of being unbelievably funny and supportive and encouraging all at the same time. Learn from her and your improv will leap forward." - Student/Performer, Erica Lies
